Welcome to the new, online home of Deer Park High School’s news and information network!
Background
For years the high school has offered various journalism classes for students to choose from–Journalism, Photo Journalism, and Broadcast Journalism. Each journalism course works to provide information and content for students, parents, and the community. They all teach an aspect of journalism but have largely operated independent of one another.
We knew our best chance to reach our shared goals is a more integrated and central program that uses a shared platform. Over the last two years we began to lay the groundwork for that program. A Program that would bring each individual class’ area-of-expertise together to help us best reach our audience. This website is a culmination of that work.
The Deer Network
The Deer Network is a re-branding of the Deer Park High School journalism program, and this website replaces The Antler Online. Journalism students write the articles. Photographs come from Photo Journalism students. And video content is produced by Broadcast Journalism and Sports Broadcasting classes. This website brings all of our content together and makes it easy for you to find.
Together we look forward to providing content of the highest quality to you, our audience–only on the Deer Network.
