Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo Recap

During the week of September 11th through 19th, the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo (PLSR) took place in Pasadena, Texas.The event showcased a number of different livestock and art raised and created by students from schools in the area.

Lead by Chairman of the Board Rex Davis, the PSLR introduces high school students from our area to leadership skills and provides opportunities to help with community events. ” I enjoy helping others in the community. There is nothing like seeing a smile on a young man or woman’s face when they compete and are rewarded for their hard work with their projects.”

According to Pasadenarodeo.com, Brad Thielen, from Deer Park High School sold his Grand Champion Steer for $55,000. Crane Rental Division Inc. bought the prize winning steer.

“They sell their projects to gain funds for further education, and also apply for scholarships,” said Rex Davis. Students have multiple opportunities to gain funds for college through the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo.
