Deer Park Softball has just acquired a new head coach. Coach Vidal is straight from a very talented college team, and is more ready than ever to teach, guide, and lead our Lady Deer to state championship victory.
“We’ve been pushed harder than we’ve ever been pushed in these short couple of months [Coach Vidal] been here. It’s amazing to watch girls I’ve grown up with grow and push themselves farther than they thought was possible. I mean, we leave practice aching and tired, but accomplished,” Tabitha Bailey, senior varsity player said.
Coach Vidal encourages her team to be strong and competitive. When asked what her main goal for the program was, she said, “obviously, we want to be competitive, all the time, every night. I came here to win. So that’s what I’m going to do.”
“This is by far the hardest I’ve ever been coached, this type of physical activity not only strengthens you physically, but mentally as well. Personally speaking, I’ve grown a lot,” Abbigail Saenz, Sophmore player said.
The softball program seems to be in really good hands this year, hopefully the Lady Deer will be looking at a championship trophy by the end of the season.
