Interested in books and want a chance to talk about them? Come to the Literary Society, where people like you hang out and talk about things relating to anything literature. Held in Mrs. Megan Hutchison’s room (2228) every other Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The meetings include topics ranging from this year’s book reading, Stephen King’s The Eyes of the Dragon, to playing games that focus on literary topics. This years president is senior Sophia Nguyen, who keeps the group focused and makes sure each meeting is fun. “It’s [literary society] changed a lot, cause I actually went to one meeting last year, and then everyone… all the other people in the club were just so busy, that actually never met again,” senior Sophia Nguyen said about the difference between last year and this year. This year, literary society members got a chance to go to the Houston Ballet to watch the production of Sleeping Beauty on March 1st. Also, Literary Society hosted it’s first “Secret Valentine’s” party, where members who signed up bought gifts under $10 to give to their “Secret Valentine,” just like a Secret Santa party. Even though each meeting only brings out five to six people, it feels great hanging out with potential friends. “I like literary society, it’s really fun,” said Nguyen.
