Oui! Deer Park High Schools French Club has started. Potential members are welcomed and encouraged to join. The organization is spending time creating a family environment that makes everyone feel included and embraced.
“This is such a fun, small, organization. When you come on in you just feel so loved and welcomed, which is what we’re trying to do,” Jaicee Blair, French Club President, said.
The Club leaders, and members, are incredibly passionate about both French language and culture. The meetings reflect this passion through the in depth discussion surrounding France and its people.
Through the Club, member Esther Maina enjoys “[learning] more about the language, culture, [and] food.”
The Club plans to sell uniquely French items, such as French Kisses, which are lip shaped lollipops, and bonbons which are small candies.
“By selling French Kisses and bonbons, it offers a little escape from everyday life,” Blair said.
